Make a shortlist before registration opens
Choose two realistic options in your child’s age or skill group. Check both travel time and the full weekly commitment: a team can involve a weekday practice and a weekend game. Create the required account in advance, save the exact class or activity number, and have your child’s birth date and any residency documents ready.
If your first choice is full
Ask whether the waitlist is for one class or several, how offers arrive, how long you have to respond, and whether a fee is refundable if no place opens. Keep a second option in mind and check its cancellation policy before paying. A waitlist entry, class request or team application is not a confirmed enrollment.
For older children interested in team soccer, SF Youth Soccer’s league overview ↗ explains City and Premier. Confirm the current team-finding process and season with the league. We have not verified its next registration opening.
For additional adaptive programs, Pomeroy youth services ↗ has its own intake process, separate from community swim registration. Discuss your child’s support needs with the program before booking.
Compare the full cost
Include registration fees, deposits, uniforms, equipment and any required membership. Ask about financial assistance, missed classes, rain cancellations and makeups. Confirm whether a caregiver participates, stays nearby or drops off.
Browse sports and lessons in the directory to narrow your shortlist by age and neighborhood.
