Spend Halloween afternoon at the Hayes Valley Art Works garden for a pet parade, pumpkin decorating, trick-or-treating, and live jazz. Children can join the costume fun even without a pet.
When and where
Saturday, October 31, 2026, 1–4 PM, at 295 Oak Street at Octavia in Hayes Valley. The garden is the starting point for registration and activities.
Cost and registration
Kids are free; adults pay $10–20 on a sliding scale. Adult entry includes one pet in the parade, jazz, and activities. Proceeds support Hayes Valley Art Works, with a portion benefiting Muttville Senior Dog Rescue.
Preregister through the organizer ↗ by Friday, October 30 at 6 PM. Walk-ups are welcome, but costume-contest participants must check in by 2 PM.
Plan your afternoon
Activities begin at 1 PM and jazz starts at 1:30. The neighborhood parade is scheduled around 2:30, followed by prizes around 3. Festivities continue until 4.
